Sydney Makar, a senior at Valencia High in California, placed second in the invitational girls 1,600 meters at the Meet of Champions Distance Classic at Arcadia High. Makar was edged at the finish line by fellow senior Brianna Weidler of Great Oak by a 4:59.28 to 4:59.37 margin.
