Grant Morgenfeld, a Wake Forest-bound senior at Palo Alto High in California, won the boys invitational 3,200 meters in a meet-record 8:50.95 at the Meet of Champions Distance Classic at Azusa Pacific University. Morgenfeld eclipsed the 8:51.62 performance produced last year by Clovis East High standout Carter Spradling.
